Templates from Appleworks

Have several Appleworks templates created specifically for the proprietary work environment that I'd like to use in Pages (instead of creating them again from scratch). I can open them in Appleworks and save them in a variety of ways, but they will not open in Pages - "not a word processing document."

Any work-arounds or am I remaking all 37 of 'em?

Continuing to use them in Appleworks is probably not a good idea since upgrading to 10.6.4.
